Music & Me

    Hello Everyone,

My name is Kilee Bradeen, and I am a senior and a Business Management Major (concentration in sports management) with a studio art minor. I've been exposed to a lot of music throughout my life. Growing up, I played the Clarinet in the school band. I was also in the chorus, as was my older sister, who is a very talented singer. My family and I have been to many concerts, mostly country, as it is our favorite genre to listen to.

I am from a small town in Maine, and came to South Carolina to play field hockey and to escape the cold! I love all things sports and i'm sure ill never want to leave the world of sports. My family also moved here to South Carolina, we all fell in love with it and the opportunity. There are so many more things to do and see here then in Maine.

1. Here are two examples of pieces of Music that I am liking right now.

I've always been a big country fan (I'm even going to a Hardy concert tonight!) As I grew up, my parents always had country playing in the car and on the radio at home. It became a big part of my childhood and my life today; it has given me some of my most favorite memories as well. I chose this song because it is a newer country song that I've been listening to a lot recently!

My second example is a Bad Bunny song. I chose this song because the past year(ish), I've been listening to a very large amount of Spanish music. I really enjoy this song and the fun energy it gives, although I'm not really exactly sure what all the lyrics mean lol. I'm definitely influenced by my boyfriend, as he's from Spain and is very passionate about music. Fun fact he’s also in the Orchestra here at Converse and by going to his concerts I realized I actually quite enjoy classical music!

2. The next piece of music is something that is very meaningful to me.

This song brings me back to a memory of a certain person who has passed along. It was a very meaningful song, and every time I hear it, it brings back many emotions. I enjoy listening to this whenever I feel upset and need a good cry, it’s definitely on my sad playlist.

3. Lastly, an example of music that I don't connect with

I don't really connect with many pop songs, I don't personally like Taylor swift either. Growing up, especially in high school I enjoyed this type of music more (probably because it was the cool thing to do) but now I’ve discovered exactly what I like. I also would say I’m not to fond of screamo rock but I don’t have a specific example of that.

That’s all, thanks for reading :)

  1. Hello Kilee, I enjoyed listening to the songs on your blog! The song I found most interesting was "Backup Plan". I also like listening to country music here and there, but I have never heard this song before, and I thought it was good and a little bit different than the stuff I have heard before. I liked the song "VOY A LLeVARTE PA PR" the most because it is something that I have listened to before. Bad Bunny is one of my favorite artists, and I have listened to many of his songs.

  2. Great first blog post! I also really enjoy country music. I really like the Bailey Zimmerman song with Luke Combs. I have never heard of that one before. I love the beat of that one. Also, another interesting one to me is "A Thousand Years." That is a very heartfelt song and so beautiful.

  3. Hey girl, I think your music taste is very mature, and I think it adds to your vibe in a beautiful way. I also don't really love pop music lol. But out of all of the songs you talked about I also really love Bad Bunny. I think you and I could get along very well and I hope I get to know more about you!
